Pacific Health Summit Initiatives
"Now is the time. We have the tools, the interest, the excitement, the money, and the hubris to believe we can do something. If we join together in an organized way to address problems that must be addressed, we could make the world a safer place."
- Tachi Yamada
Policy Labs
Beyond providing a forum for the leaders to exchange ideas, the Summit provides a proven and highly scalable mechanism for identifying neglected areas in health and then quickly translating interest into robust initiatives and “policy labs." These Health Policy Labs, managed by the NBR Center for Health and Aging, emerge from interactive discussions in June to continue dialogue on specific issues through year-round research, targeted workshops, case studies, and other activities. Other Initiatives
Additionally, the Summit has been a catalyst and provides supporting infrastructure for a number of other initiatives that range from innovative science and research collaborations of global significance to policy research on healthcare reform in individual countries. For more information on two such initiatives managed by Summit Co-Presenting organization, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, please visit:
