Pacific Health Summit - Seattle, USA

The goal of the Pacific Health Summit is to connect science and policy for a healthier world. Every June we invite top decision-makers in science, policy, industry, medicine, and public health to Seattle to discuss how to realize the dream of a healthier future through the effective utilization of scientific advances combined with appropriate policies for prevention, early detection, and early treatment of disease.

Each year we focus our discussion on an issue of critical importance. In 2007, we focused on pandemics. In June 2008, the Summit theme was The Global Nutrition Challenge: Getting a Healthy Start. Summit discussions focused on the complex challenge of too little of the right nutrition for vulnerable populations and the rapidly emerging health threat of too much of the wrong nutrition in both developed and developing world.

The Summit is a year-round process. In addition to the June meeting, the Summit provides an ongoing forum for world leaders to improve health by working together to grapple with problems and solutions, share best practices, and forge effective collaborations.

The Pacific Health Summit, since its inception, has always sought to transcend political borders. As an independent initiative, we bring a diverse collection of voices from across the world to address the critical healthcare needs, information and treatments all individuals need regardless of the country in which they live. We are proud of the Summit’s role in encouraging organizations and countries to work across borders to improve the lives of all.
